Enhancements
Trading Mosaic
Please note that Mosaic is not available for Advisors.
A new all-inclusive trading workspace, the Mosaic, is now available to TWS users. The Mosaic combines market data, order entry and account monitoring into a single customizable workspace. The Mosaic version will vary based on whether or not a customer subscribes to IBIS.
Mosaic comprises several of the existing TWS tools including the Watchlist, Charts and Quote Details. It also include several new windows:
- Toolbox - Includes access to extra windows that will populate based on windows grouping; this means that tools opened from the Toolbox will be populated with the selected underlying in the active group.
- Activity Monitor -
The Activity Monitor window provides drop-down access to the following displays:
- Portfolio - The Portfolio window differs from the TWS Portfolio window in several ways. While both display your current positions, the IBIS Portfolio window does not allow you to create orders, and is a source for windows grouping.
- Orders - The Orders window can be set to reflect all orders, working orders, canceled orders or complete orders.
- Trades Summary - Shows the summary of trades for the current trading day with average price for buys and sells, total price for buys and sells and the Net Total for the day.
- Trades - Shows individual trades for the current trading day.
- Order Entry - The Order Entry window is a grouped window whose order focus can be driven by your selection in the Portfolio window (if for example you want to close a position) or by any other grouped window. The order ticket is lean and compact with efficient pull downs and selection wands to help you quickly define your order. You can also elect instantaneous transmit or order confirmation.
TWS users who subscribe to the IBIS news and fundamentals research platform add-on will notice that their IBIS workspace contains these new windows. TWS users who do not subscribe to IBIS will not have access to the newswire or other IBIS-based data windows.
To activate IBIS with the new windows, close IBIS, save your settings, and log out of TWS. The next time you log in to TWS version 923 and "Launch" IBIS from the toolbar, the workspace will include these new windows.
TWS Enhancements
Thumbnail Charts and Windows Snapping - IBIS subscribers have enjoyed the thumbnail charts and window snapping feature in the IBIS workspace. These features are now available within TWS to all users. The Thumbnail chart is a smaller but still configurable version of our real-time chart that is useful for at-a-glance tracking. Windows snapping allows you to easily align and attach windows without sloppy overlapping.
Updates to Price and Size Wands - The Price and Size wands have been enhanced to include useful price point and position labels such as "Ask" "Bid" "Midpoint" and "Position (for Size wand)."
OCA for Smart Combos - The One-Cancels-All group settings that are displayed on the Misc tab of the order ticket are now active for Smart routed combination orders.
Switch Exchange for realtime market data - For positions and tickers on exchanges to which you don't subscribe, TWS now provides a "Switch Exchange" button that allows you to see the market data for the contract on an exchange to which you do subscribe, if available. For example, if you enter a market data line for a contract on BVME but don't subscribe to this exchange, the ticker line will show no market data but you WILL see a button "Switch Exchange" that offers to switch the market center to LSE.
