iTWS for iPhone
IB's state-of-the-art iTWS provides electronic access to your IB account from your iPhoneTM. iTWS lets you enter and manage orders, view executions, monitor your account balance - all from your iPhone!
With iTWS, you can:
- View real-time streaming quotes, charts and scanners.
- Trade stocks, options, futures, futures options and forex worldwide.
- SmartRoutingTM technology searches for the best price and dynamically routes and re-routes all or part of your order to achieve optimal execution.
- Monitor your trades, portfolio and account information.
- Set price alerts with email notification.
- Take a call and reconnect to iTWS for up to 10 minutes without having to log back in.

Recommended System Requirements
Please note the following requirements for running iTWS:

Secure two-factor authentication using a secure login device is available within iTWS through IB's Secure Login System. Users are encouraged to sign up for the Secure Login System in order to safeguard their account.
Because iTWS periodically uses your cellular network for communication, you may incur additional data usage charges when roaming.

Problem: Invalid username or password error received when logging in.
- Potential Solution: The iPhone login does not support passwords longer than 8 characters. Try resetting your TWS password through Account Management. To reset your password, log into Account Management on the IB web site. Under the User Management section, select Password. Modify to 8 characters or less.
- Potential Solution: If you are connecting via Wi-Fi and are using an older iPhone or iPod version (2G and some 3G) you may need to reset your network settings. To reset your settings, select Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Problem: 'Account configuration not supported' error received when logging in.
Several account types are not yet supported in iTWS, including institutional accounts, G-accounts (guaranteed dollars) and OATS-reportable accounts. If you have any of these account configurations you will not be able to trade your IB account through the iTWS app.

- iTWS {problem statement}in the subject line, for example: iTWS login error message.
- Your TWS account number.
- Mode of connection (Wi-Fi or Cellular).
- The version of iPhone you are using.
The enhancements
and modifications below are in the latest release of iTWS for the iPhone. Visit the Apple app store to get version 2.1 of iTWS. To find out what version you're currently running, go to Configuration. The version is displayed in the About field.
Once you have logged in, if you leave the iTWS application without logging out, you can re-access the application without having to log in or use your security device within 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, you will be logged out and will be required to log back in using the full login and security process. If you prefer not to have this 10 minute leeway to re-access your account, go to Configuration and switch Allow reconnect to OFF. You can also have iTWS remember your username by setting Save username to ON.
When you click in the Customer Login username field, an entry keyboard is displayed which allows you to enter your secure login data. This onscreen keyboard is only accessible for logging into iTWS.
In response to customer requests, the Interactive Brokers splash screen no longer displays to customers on log in.
The iTWS now supports forex in addition to stocks, options and futures and futures options. In addition, the FX Portfolio section can now viewed from the Portfolio. To enable display of the FX Portfolio, from Configuration set Enable FX portfolio to ON.
In the Portfolio view, the Value column now displays toggle arrows. When clicked, the entry toggles between Value and Unrealized P&L.
If you enter a ticker on an exchanges to which you have not subscribed, iTWS will ask if you would like to see delayed market data for the ticker. Note that delays are determined by the exchange but are generally 15-20 minutes.
iTWS now supports charting. To see a chart, select Quotes and Charts from the main menu. Select a symbol, and click Chart at the top right of the Contract Details page The chart display will expand when you rotate your iPhone from portrait to landscape orientation.
To view market scanners, from the main menu select Scanners. Touch the plus sign "+" to create a new real-time market scan.
You can now set realtime alerts with email notification. To set an alert, from the main menu select Alerts. Touch the plus sign "+" to create an alert. Define conditions and settings. The alert notification will be sent to the email defined in Configuration. To modify the email address, touch Text Message from the Alerts screen.
Non customers have access to delayed quotes, charts and market scanners (delays determined by the individual exchanges) as well as realtime price alerts with email delivery, and realtime forex quotes. Additionally, non-customers can log into the iTWS demo system to get a feel for the iTWS.
The following fixes have also been included in version 2.1 of iTWS:
- In the beta version, the application did not accept valid passwords if they were longer than 8 characters. This has been fixed. .
